Western vs Coral Glades
JUNIOR VARSITY GAME RECAP
Western (55) vs Coral Glades (58)
This one was a four-quarter battle that came down to execution, composure, and who wanted it more in the final minute.
Western came out fast, pushing the pace early with back-to-back transition buckets and a couple of big defensive stops that gave them control in the first quarter. Their ball pressure created turnovers, and they built a small lead heading into the second.
Coral Glades answered with poise. Midway through the second quarter, the Jaguars found their rhythm behind sharp guard play, a few key drives to the rim, and a momentum-shifting three that cut Western’s lead to one. By halftime, it was a tight, physical contest with both sides trading baskets.
Coming out of the break, Coral Glades’ defensive adjustments paid off. They closed the lane, forced Western into tougher shots, and capitalized with fast-break points of their own. Still, Western refused to fold responding with grit, a couple of clutch mid-range shots, and a strong rebounding effort to keep it close.
The fourth quarter was pure intensity. Western tied it at 55 with under a minute left after a hard drive to the basket, but Coral Glades answered immediately with a go-ahead bucket. In the final possession, Western had a chance to tie or take the lead, but Coral Glades’ defense held strong, forcing a contested look that bounced short.
Final:

A tough loss for Western, but a game full of heart, hustle, and high-level effort from both teams. Coral Glades closes it out with discipline and late-game execution.
